The short version
Long Blow has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not connect to any server, and none of your data ever leaves your device unless you personally choose to share a scorecard image through the system share sheet. Everything the game needs — your shearing results, gear, sheep roster, and settings — is generated and stored entirely on your iPhone or iPad.
What is stored, and where
- Game progress. Scorecards, show placings, gear and cutters, tally-day history, awards, pinned sheep, and your shearer name and optional profile photo are saved locally using Apple's Core Data framework, inside the app's own storage on your device.
- Settings. Preferences such as music, sound, haptics, steady-hand assist, and your reminder time are saved locally using Apple's UserDefaults framework.
- Photos. If you choose to add a shearer profile photo, it is selected using the system photo picker (PHPicker) or taken with the camera, and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere, and is only included in an exported image if you deliberately use the share option on a scorecard.
None of this information is transmitted to us, to Apple's analytics services, or to any third party. We do not operate a server that Long Blow talks to, because Long Blow does not talk to any server.
Permissions the app can ask for
- Notifications. If you turn on the optional daily reminder in Settings, the app schedules a local notification on your device. This is not a push notification and involves no remote server.
- Photo Library. Requested only if you tap to choose a shearer profile photo from your library. You can decline this and use the app fully without it.
- Camera. Requested only if you tap to take a new shearer profile photo with your camera. You can decline this and use the app fully without it.
Third-party services
Long Blow bundles two royalty-free background music tracks (credited in Settings → Music and credits) as local audio files. It does not include any advertising network, analytics SDK, crash reporter, or other third-party library that collects data. There are no tracking domains and no cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Children's privacy
Long Blow does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all. There is no account creation, no chat, and no way for the app to identify who is playing.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example if a future update adds a genuinely new feature — we will update this page and the "What's new" notes for that version. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the current version of this policy.
